What are your rights as a student and our policies regarding courses?

Polestar Pilates has strict policies regarding course registration, cancellation, and transfers. Please read these over carefully to understand our expectations and regulations for our students.

REGISTRATION POLICIES

All registrations require a valid email address.
Your registration will be pending until payment is processed. Allow 2-5 business days for your registration to be processed (if paying by check, that is after check is received). Once registered, you will be able to view your registration details on-line.
A $25 fee will be charged for any returned check or declined credit card debit due to insufficient funds.
Polestar is not responsible for any hotel or airline expenses, nor transportation to or from a course.

ONLINE COURSE ACCESS POLICY

Unless otherwise stated, all online courses provide 1 month of unlimited access. For Polestar Principles Online and Polestar Anatomy, standalone courses provide 6 months of unlimited access and 2 years of unlimited access when being taken with a teacher training program.

It is the responsibility of the student to complete and download all completion certificates before this time. For Principles Online and Anatomy, standalone courses provide 6 months of unlimited access and 2 years of unlimited access when being taken with a teacher training program.

REFUND POLICY

Cancellations must be received in writing by the administrator by certified mail or e-mail. Cancellation can also occur by termination.
The student is entitled to a full refund of monies paid if Polestar does not accept the applicant or if the student cancels within three (3) business days after signing the enrollment agreement and before making an initial payment.
The student is entitled to a full refund of monies paid, minus an $800 nonrefundable enrollment fee charge, if a cancellation request is received within two (2) months of the start date of the course.
Cancellation after attendance has begun, but prior to 50% completion of the program, will result in a partial refund based on the number of hours completed in proportion to the total program hours plus the $800 enrollment fee.
Cancellation after completing 50% of the program contact hours will result in no refund.
Termination Date: In calculating the refund due to a student, the last date of actual attendance by the student is used in the calculation unless earlier written notice is received.
There are no refunds for self-paced online courses.

Polestar will process refunds no later than thirty (30) days after the student’s written request for cancellation or withdrawal is received by the Administrator.

CHANGE REQUESTS

Change requests involve students moving to a different location, changing the course they are attending and/or postponing the course they are attending. Change requests must be submitted in writing via email here and must be received 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) prior to the start date of the course. There is a $150 change fee per change. Polestar reserves the right to postpone or cancel any course.

PROGRAM CANCELLATION POLICY

Polestar reserves the right to cancel any course. If Polestar cannot provide courses, examinations or modules onsite due to circumstances or events beyond its control (including but not limited to weather conditions, any contagious diseases or epidemics, COVID-19 forced closures, demonstrations, riots, civil unrest, curfew, city lockdowns and government travel restrictions), Polestar may at its sole discretion:

Replace those parts of courses, modules, examinations which can be so replaced without compromising Polestar instructional standards, with online instruction and reschedule such parts of courses, modules, examinations which cannot reasonably be replaced by online instruction -at no additional cost to students*
Reschedule the said courses, examinations or modules in their entirety-at no additional cost to students.*
Cancel any scheduled course, examination, module without rescheduling or arranging online replacement.**

* Students are not eligible for refunds in instances 1 & 2 listed above.
** Full refunds are available on fees paid for cancelled courses, examinations or modules to students in circumstance 3 above.
Non-attendance in any courses, examination or modules which include online instruction, will be subject to the normal terms and conditions of non-attendance.

TUITION COLLECTION

All payments are processed through our online storefront. A $25 fee will be charged for any declined credit card or debit card due to insufficient funds.

USE OF ONLINE INSTRUCTION METHODS

Notwithstanding any other provisions of these terms and conditions, in the event that Polestar Pilates (i) cannot provide courses, examinations or modules onsite due to circumstances or events beyond its control or (ii) if it considers that, having regards to the then current circumstances, it would be appropriate to ensure the safety and security of its staff and/or students where circumstances and events beyond the control of Polestar Pilates and that may be taken into account when considering the safety and security of staff and/or students include (without limitation) weather conditions; any contagious diseases, epidemics or pandemics including but not limited to COVID-19 and their consequences; demonstrations; riots; civil unrest; curfew and city lock-downs, government travel restrictions, Polestar Pilates may at its sole discretion:

Replace those parts of courses, modules, examinations which can be so replaced without compromising Polestar instructional standards, with online instruction and reschedule such parts of courses, modules, examinations which cannot reasonably be replaced by online instruction -at no additional cost to students.*
Reschedule the said courses, examinations or modules in their entirety-at no additional cost to students.*
Cancel any scheduled course, examination, module without rescheduling or arranging online replacement.**

* No financial compensation will be payable to students in circumstances 1. and 2. above.
** Full refund of fees paid for cancelled course, examination, module will be made to students for circumstance 3 above.
Non-Attendance in any courses, examinations or modules which include online instruction, will be subject to the normal terms and conditions of non-attendance.

LIABILITY DISCLAIMER

THE INFORMATION, SOFTWARE, PRODUCTS, AND SERVICES INCLUDED IN OR AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SITES MAY INCLUDE INACCURACIES OR TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS. CHANGES ARE PERIODICALLY ADDED TO THE INFORMATION HEREIN. POLESTAR PILATES EDUCATION AND/OR ITS SUPPLIERS MAY MAKE IMPROVEMENTS AND/OR CHANGES IN THE SITES AT ANY TIME. ADVICE RECEIVED VIA THE SITES SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON FOR PERSONAL, MEDICAL, LEGAL OR FINANCIAL DECISIONS AND YOU SHOULD CONSULT AN APPROPRIATE PROFESSIONAL FOR SPECIFIC ADVICE TAILORED TO YOUR SITUATION.

POLESTAR PILATES EDUCATION AND/OR ITS SUPPLIERS MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT THE SUITABILITY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, TIMELINESS, AND ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION, SOFTWARE, PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND RELATED GRAPHICS CONTAINED ON THE SITES FOR ANY PURPOSE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALL SUCH INFORMATION, SOFTWARE, PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND RELATED GRAPHICS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF ANY KIND. IF YOU ARE DISSATISFIED WITH ANY PORTION OF THE SITES, OR WITH ANY OF THESE TERMS OF USE, YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS TO DISCONTINUE USING THE SITES.
